I imagine some girls would try, though. At my school, there was this one teacher who would carry around a ruler to check the length of certain offenders... it was funny.
What's sad is, when you get used to it because you're around it every day, the whole 'schoolgirl skirt' thing isn't hot, it's just... what girls wear. I never got that it was fetish material to some until much later.
Of course, the ultra-short skirts in this comic are not like anything I've seen anyone at school (or elsewhere in recent memory) wear, but hey... it's called fanservice. I can see see how some could be annoyed by it, but I disagree with the word "objectifying," which the other commenter didn't use, but is usually used to describe such a situation. The point isn't a "women aren't human, just sex objects" view of women as people, it's more "my characters may as well be hot, too," with maybe some "if I'm going to take this much time drawing this, it's going to be fun for me."
Anyway, I'm loving your story so far. I wish, though, that the "he's crushing on her, she thinks he's her dead sister" arc had been continued.
